Programme Overview

Providing a comprehensive insight into our retail and commercial banking businesses, it is designed to help you develop the skills and experience you need to embark on a management career with HSBC in your home country through different placements overseas.

Programme Structure

In total, the programme lasts approximately 20 months, commencing in September 2010, with a three-week local induction course followed by a two-week induction course in the UK.

Following the induction, you will undertake two overseas placements typically within Europe. The third final placement is in the home country in order to complete the training and ultimately receive the first management appointment. All 3 placements are 6 months long.

Learning & Development

Training covers a range of soft and technical skills, specialist banking concepts as well as HSBC structure and strategy.

UK training courses include further skills development as well as sharing of experiences between delegates. Specialist projects are set during each placement, which aim to develop commercial thinking.

Each placement focuses on personal and commercial businesses, as well as specific business needs of each participating country.

Throughout the programme, access is given to knowledge resources to facilitate self-study.

After the programme

At the end of the programme, you'll be ready to take up a management position with HSBC in your home country.

What we're looking for
