Log on to Online Banking please follow the instructions to set your password. Download the HSBC app from the Apple App Store (for Apple devices) or Google Play (Android™ devices) and install it. After you download it, you can sign in to the Mobile Banking app with your username, you can set up your 6-Digit PIN by using your Password or using the Online Banking security device.

The app can be used on smartphones and tablets. It will be available on iPhones®, iPads®, iPad Minis and iPod Touches with an operating system of iOS 13.0 or higher and on Androids™ with an operating system of 7.0 or higher.

No, this app is for your HSBC personal accounts only.

Unfortunately the app is not available on Blackberry® or Windows phones. We will, however, continue to monitor the devices on which our app will be available.

You will need to be online at all times when downloading or using the app.

We recommend that your mobile device is connected to the internet via Wi-Fi when you download the app. Downloading when connected to the internet through your mobile network may take longer and incur extra charges from your network provider. The apps can be found at the Apple App Store (for Apple devices) and from Google Play (for Android™ devices).

To download the mobile app, search by typing 'HSBC Greece' and choose the App with the HSBC logo. Once the app download is complete, click on the 'Install' button to complete installation.

Download speed will depend on the strength of your connection to the internet and the capacity of the app stores. Once downloaded, additional data will be downloaded on your first log on, with a message saying 'updated' which will result in a slower log on time. Subsequent logons will be quicker.

Our mobile banking app is a quick and convenient way for our customers to access online banking. This means that customers won't be able to use the app until they have registered to use online banking.

The security of your banking is important to us and we feel the best way to safeguard this is for your password to be set up once you have logged into online banking using Security Device. Once your password for the mobile app has been set up you won't need the Security Device to log into mobile banking. 

There are no HSBC related charges for using this app. However, you may be charged by your mobile network provider for the use of internet connection when accessing the app. Note that these charges may vary if you access the app when abroad. Please refer to your network provider to check your payment plan.

The login process for the app has been created with our customers' security in mind and a unique password is required to help prevent account details being compromised.

Your password should follow below criteria:

- Password must be 8-30 characters

- It can only contain letters, numbers or these special characters ! $ * - . = ? @ _ '

- It can't include common patterns or words e.g. password, 123456, qwerty

- It must contain at least 1 letter and 1 number

You can reset your password through online banking by selecting the option ‘Forgotten your password’ after you've entered your username during logon. To complete the process, you'll then need to call us in order to activate your new sign-in details.

Yes, the mobile app will be locked after three incorrect attempts and you will need to reset your details using online banking and your Security Device.

You won't be able to access your accounts via online banking until your password has been reset. You will still be able to access phone banking.

Depending on what information you have locked on online banking, when you reset this, you may also be required to update your log on credentials for the app. The app will not be affected if you fail phone banking security.

We have ensured that no data about your account is stored on the phone itself. Each time you access the app and enter your security details correctly you will be securely connected to our servers. Always remember to log out when you have finished.

We would also encourage customers to take precautions when using their mobile devices in a public area. To protect your mobile phone use a PIN or passcode to stop your mobile opening up for anyone else. This helps opportunists from accessing your lost or stolen phone.

Keep your passwords and security details safe, so no one else can access your online accounts. Your password should be unique and very well protected. It is important that you do not save any passwords and/or security details on your mobile phone or tablet.

If you are worried that your security details have been compromised, or if you have lost your phone, please change your mobile banking password, memorable answer and security questions immediately. Log on to online banking, select 'Services' from the left hand side menu present in your Account Summary page and click on 'Change mobile banking password', 'Change memorable question & answer' and 'Change security question & answer' to reset all your passwords.

The app will time out automatically after 15 minutes of inactivity. Unlike online banking there won't be a pop up message advising that it will time out.

Please always ensure to log out when you have finished using the app or whenever your mobile banking session times out.

While we don't recommend sharing the app, providing the other person has set up their password correctly then they would be able to log on and access their account details through the app.

The app will be saved to your mobile device so will not be affected if your SIM card or network changes. If you are changing your mobile device then delete the app from your mobile device and reinstall it on your new device. This will not affect your account or your log on details and your password will remain the same. 

No, this app is for your HSBC personal accounts only.

The security of your account is of upmost importance to us. For this reason, all new payments need to be set up and a first payment made, through online banking. This then provides the extra protection of your security device.

Once a payment has been made in this way, it can subsequently be made using the app. 

The app can be used 24/7 and account information will be constantly kept up-to-date. There will be occasions when there will be a difference between the balance of your account and the available balance (both of which are shown in the app). This may be due to, for example, a pending debit card payment due to leave the account or a cheque paid into the account that has not yet cleared. 

For credit cards, you'll be able to see the most recent transactions you've made since your last statement. For current/savings accounts you will be able to see the transactions made within the past 5 years.

Statements can't be downloaded to your mobile device.

Yes however, we strongly recommend that you only use this app via secured networks. Connecting through a public Wi-Fi or hotspot can compromise your mobile security and put your information at risk. Take the necessary precautions to ensure that your mobile device is always secure. Furthermore, you may be charged by your mobile network provider for the use of internet connection when accessing the app. These charges may vary if you access the app when abroad. Limitations to use or download this mobile banking app may apply in some countries and regions around the world. 

• Using your online banking username and password, you can request that a one-time activation code (SMS OTP) be sent to your mobile device to help us confirm your identity.
• Using your online banking username with your security device.

After you have been verified you will be prompted to create a 6-digit PIN, which will then be all you need to log on to the mobile banking app.

You can change your password through online banking by select the option "Forgotten your password" after enter your username during logon. To complete the process you'll then need to call us in order to activate your new sign-in details.

You can reset your PIN once you've locked your device by entering the wrong PIN three times. Once you have done this, 'Lock PIN' will display on your Security Device's screen, along with a seven-digit unlock code.

Once you’ve done this, contact us to reset your PIN.

Which features are available in the new mobile banking app?

1. You can view your Account Summary, Account Transaction History and Credit Card Transaction History

2. You can make transfers between all of your accounts held with HSBC in Greece

3. You can make bill payments to 250 companies

4. You can view all your account balances in other countries using Global View

5. You can make transfers to a Local beneficiary account or card in euro, from your existing payees list.

How do I get the new mobile banking app?

Download the HSBC app (HSBC Greece) from the App Store (for Apple devices) or from Google Play (for Android™ devices) and install it. After you download it, you can sign in to the mobile banking service with a 6-digit code, which you will be prompted to create when you first open the application.

I am not currently registered for HSBC Greece Mobile app, what do I need to do?

Mobile banking is a safe, quick and easy way to manage your money on the move. Setting up the HSBC Greece mobile app takes just a few minutes.

Simply download HSBC Greece Mobile app from the App Store or Google Play™, open the app, and follow the on screen instructions to set up your security information (If you're an existing online banking customer, you can access the HSBC Greece Mobile app using the same details).

What are the minimum operating system requirements my device must have to install the new enhanced mobile banking app?

The new app requires iOS 13.0 and later. For Android, 6.0 and later. You will be able to check compatibility of your device on the app stores.

Which HSBC Mobile Banking app will I need to access my HSBC accounts in other countries or regions?

If you have linked your international accounts you will be able to view them using the new app.

If you have not linked your international accounts you will need continue to log on to the specific country/region app in order to manage these accounts.

What happens if a mobile device I have set up for the HSBC Greece Mobile app is lost or stolen?

Remove the lost or stolen device under 'Manage Devices' in 'Settings' using the HSBC Greece Mobile app on any other device that you have set up our app on. If you subsequently find your old phone and want to use it to access HSBC Greece Mobile app again, you will need to set up the device again.

How can I start using Biometrics to log on to the HSBC Greece mobile app in place of my PIN?

If you have activated a supported mobile device's fingerprint authentication or Face ID functionality, you can activate this function to log on to the HSBC Greece app by going to 'Manage Security' and activating fingerprint authentication or Face ID by switching on the toggle.

Can I use Biometrics to log on to the HSBC Greece Mobile app?

Once you have set up your mobile device, set up your PIN and logged on for the first time using your PIN, you will be able to activate and use fingerprint authentication (Touch ID and Android fingerprint authentication) and Face ID in place of typing in your PIN if your device is supported.

Face ID is currently only available on the Apple iPhone X. Touch ID is currently available on Apple iPhone 5s or later models.

To enable Android Fingerprint, your device must be running either Android 8 or above, and have the functionality to use fingerprint login.

How do I create a PIN to use in order to log on to the HSBC Greece Mobile app?

The first time you will use the HSBC Greece Mobile app you have to follow below steps in order to create your PIN. It is simple, easy and fast!

• Enter your Username
• Verify yourself with below 2 ways:

1.    Input your mobile password and input the SMS PIN you received

2.    Input a 6 digit security code using your Security Device

• Create your 6-digit PIN

*Please note that you have to avoid consecutive, ascending, descending or repeated numbers.

Can I change the PIN I use to log on to the HSBC Greece mobile app?

You can change your PIN by going to 'Manage Security' and selecting 'Change PIN'.

What happens if I forget my PIN?

You can reset your PIN by selecting 'Forgotten PIN' on the PIN input page, then either using your physical Secure Key to generate a security code, or entering your password and receiving an SMS one-time passcode. Then you can set a new PIN.

I entered the wrong PIN 5 times, now my PIN has been locked. What should I do?

You can reset your PIN by either using your physical Secure Key to generate a security code, or entering your password and receiving an SMS one-time passcode. Then you can set up a new PIN.

Can I receive an SMS one-time activation code if my mobile number is an international number?

Yes, international numbers are supported and you will be able to receive the activation code as long as your number is able to receive SMS.

I am outside Greece, can I still receive the SMS one-time activation code?

You can receive the activation code if your phone can receive SMS.

I am sharing my mobile device with another person. Why can't we both use the same device to log on to our HSBC accounts?

Once you have set up the app on your mobile device, the device will be linked to your profile and only you will be able to log on using this device until you remove the device under 'Manage devices' in your Profile.

Can someone else log on to the HSBC Greece Mobile app if their fingerprint is stored on my device?

When you enable fingerprint authentication services in the HSBC Greece Mobile app, any fingerprints stored on your device can be used to log on to the HSBC Greece Mobile app. However, it is strongly recommended that you only store your fingerprint on your device. You can always add or remove fingerprints from your device's settings menu.

If you have updated to the iOS16 version (Apple operating system) you need to update to the latest HSBC Greece mobile app version in order to continue managing your banking on the go. To do so, simply search ‘HSBC Greece’ in the Apple Αpp Store and click “Update”.

If you are using iOS12 or below (Apple operating system) it is not compatible with our latest version of HSBC Greece Μobile app. You will have to update to a newer version (iOS13 or above). To check your Apple device operating system simply go to Settings>General>Software update.

If you have recently upgraded your phone operating system to Android 12.0, then you may notice that your existing PIN may not work and error 'You entered your PIN incorrectly' displays on the screen. You will need to reset the HSBC Greece mobile app PIN using the 'Forgot your PIN?' option on the app log on screen. Alternatively, you may remove/delete the existing version of the mobile app and install the latest version from Google Play Store and set up your mobile app again. 

As from 15^th of June 2022, in order for the HSBC Greece Mobile Banking app to operate, an operating system of iOS 13.0 or above for iPhones, iPads, iPad Minis and iPod Touches devices and an operating system of 7.0 or above for Android devices shall be required.

You can update your device operating system according to the notifications and guidelines from the device manufacturer.

If your device doesn’t not support iOS 13.0 for Apple devices and OS 7.0 for Android devices, you will need to get another compatible device with a supported operating system to continue using our app.
